What is processed during analysis

When you upload a bill, the file is sent through Asolea's service to n8n, hosted at Netcup, and to Google's Gemini API to read its data. The document may include your name, address, RFC (Mexican tax ID), service number, QR codes and other personal data. The n8n workflow is set up not to keep the content of its runs; each provider also applies its own processing terms.

What we save when you upload your bill

By uploading your bill you accept what this page describes. If the document is a CFE bill, we save the original file (PDF or photo) in private Cloudflare R2 storage and, in Cloudflare D1, the data we read: service address, municipality and state, service number, meter serial, account, tax folio, tariff, usage, amounts, charges, readings and history. If you don't agree, don't upload your bill: reading starts as soon as you choose the file.

Your name and RFC remain visible inside the original file. We don't save them as separate data and we remove them from the text we keep, unless you add the bill to your account. Even without them, the file, the address and the service number can identify you, so we treat them as personal data.

We keep the file for up to 12 months and the data for up to 24 months from upload. An automatic task checks every hour for what has expired and deletes it. If the document is not a CFE bill, we don't save it.

Technical data saved without linking it to your account

To improve Asolea and understand bill patterns, we save in an analytics table separate from your history the technical data of correctly identified CFE bills: tariff code and family, usage, amount, period length, energy and support charges when they appear, technical indicators, energy ranges, some historical values and legibility level.

We don't copy to that table the PDF or photo, name, address, service number, RFC, QR code, location, exact dates, evidence text, email, IP address, cookie, session or the bill's identifier in your history. The row includes no user and can't be searched from My Bills. The data is kept for up to 24 months; cleanup runs in batches during later analyses and may be delayed if the service has no activity.

This data is not directly linked to a person, but usage and amount are still sensitive information, and unusual combinations could allow inferences. That's why Asolea doesn't promise absolute anonymity. By uploading your bill you authorize this use. If you don't accept it, the bill is not sent to the reader. Because the table keeps no link to your account, we can't locate a specific analytics row from My Bills.

File and report in My Bills

The file also stays temporarily in this browser's IndexedDB while you decide whether to add it to your account, and it is deleted after one hour while Asolea is open, or on your next visit if the browser was closed. The reading report stays in this tab's session.

If you add it to your account, we also save your name and RFC, a copy of the original and the report, and the bill is linked to your account or to this browser if you enter as a guest. Guest bills stay accessible for up to 30 days; those linked to an account, for up to 12 months from upload. After that they are removed from your history and gradually deleted. If you delete it from My Bills, we also delete the file and the data we saved at upload, except the technical data row, which is not linked to the bill. The provider's recovery copies may temporarily keep deleted data.

Email and sessions

If you request an access link, we save your email to create your account. Resend receives the email and the access message; we don't send it the bill or the extracted data. Links work once and expire after 15 minutes. Sessions last up to 30 days and use a necessary cookie, HttpOnly and Secure when the connection is HTTPS. We don't use your email for marketing. We use the data from an installer request only to review local options and contact you; we don't share it with installers without asking your permission separately.

Request to find local installers

At the end of an analysis you can voluntarily leave your name (optional), email, municipality and state so Asolea can look for installer options by hand and contact you. Sending it requires your explicit consent and is separate from the analysis and from saving the bill. There is an optional, separate authorization so that, if you have an account with that same email, the panel can check how many bills you saved and the summary of tariff, usage and amount of the latest one. Without that authorization we don't connect the request with an account. This does not include anonymous bills or technical readings without an account. The request is free and doesn't guarantee that options are available. Resend processes the notice Asolea receives with your data; we don't send the bill or the report. Asolea doesn't share your data with an installer until it tells you who would receive it and asks your authorization again.

We save the request in a table separate from your bills for up to 90 days and delete it automatically when that period ends. In that same record, the internal panel may save the follow-up status, notes, last contact date, a next reminder and a manual priority; all of it is deleted with the request. You can ask for its deletion by writing to [email protected].

To limit abuse we count requests using identifiers temporarily derived from the IP address and email. Those identifiers are not added to the bills analytics table. If you lose the guest cookie before linking your bills to an email, we can't recover that history. On a shared device, sign out when you finish.

Maps and estimates

The location search may query OpenStreetMap/Nominatim, and the coordinates you choose are sent to NASA POWER to estimate sunlight. Your street address is not sent to those services from your history. If you save a bill or a calculation in My Bills, we also save the sun hours and the point you choose on the map, which may be your roof; they are deleted when you delete it. If you name a bill, we save the name with it and delete it when you delete the bill; avoid writing anything you don't want kept. Solar estimates are for guidance and should be checked against the bill and the site.

Who can see this data

Whoever administers Asolea can open an internal panel protected by sign-in. There they see counts and, for each uploaded bill, its date, status, tariff, usage, amount, municipality, state and file type, and whether it is in an account. They also see masked emails with their number of bills, the technical data table and voluntary requests to find installers. Only if the person checked the optional authorization and the email exactly matches an account, the panel shows the sign-up date, how many bills that account saved and a summary of the latest one (date, tariff, usage and amount). The suggested priority explains whether it counts the explicit request, the DAC tariff or usage of at least 1,000 kWh on the latest linked bill; it can be corrected with a manual priority from 1 to 5 or left unrated. The panel also saves status, notes, last contact date and next reminder during the request's retention period. Accounts without an installer request do not become contacts. The status does not authorize sharing data with installers: for that, you are first told who would receive it and asked for separate permission. The panel doesn't open the original file or the full report, and doesn't show bill addresses, service numbers, session identifiers or per-IP counters.

What we use the information for

We use what we save when you upload your bill and the technical data for internal statistics on usage, tariffs and location, to improve reading quality and to improve Asolea. We don't use it for advertising, we don't sell it and we don't publish individual bills or profiles. We don't use bills to train a model of our own. Automatic reading can make mistakes; confirm important data against your document.

Who is responsible and how to delete your data

The person responsible for your data is Pablo Spada. To ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or to withdraw your consent, write to [email protected]. If your request is about a bill that isn't in an account, include your service number so we can find it; to delete an installer request, just give the email you used and your area.
